About Artist Cecilia McGuire…
Cecilia McGuire was born and raised in Sweden and graduated from a Commercial Art College in Stockholm. Cecilia moved to the United States and worked for Honeywell, Inc. in Los Angeles, California, where she assisted in creating the Art Department for the Computer Division.
Later in life Cecilia worked for several years in other commercial print shops which led her to Ellisburg, Washington, and later to Northern, Arizona, where she applied her creative skills as a graphic artist.
Cecilia attended classes in watercolor and acrylics at the Yavapai College in Northern Arizona where several of her works were accepted into the Yavapai College Juried Student Art Shows. Her works have been displayed at various fine art galleries throughout Northern Arizona, notably this would also include her active membership with The Grayleaf Art Group.
Cecilia Says “When I Paint… I am filled with the challenge to capture the expressions and essence of the moment”. I use color, texture and imagery to evoke the emotion the subject inspires. I want people to feel that emotion when they see my paintings. My contemporary style allows me the freedom to paint things as I see them, bringing them to life.
